Japanese Whisky Weekly Tasting Sessions at Bar Besuto
Every Tuesday at 6pm, head down underground to Japanese whisky den Bar Besuto for an introduction into the world of Japanese whisky.
Guided by Joel Best, owner of Bar Besuto (and Besuto Omakase restaurant), Japanophile, and avid Japanese whisky researcher and collector. Joel has been to Japan many times, and toured through hundreds of distilleries. His passion is for smaller, family run distillers making limited batches.
You'll be guided through an in-depth tasting, as Best introduces you to some of the output from the 140 odd different small whisky distilleries that exist today in Japan. Every Tuesday the focus will be on one distillery, their history and product, and attendees will taste a range of six different whiskies from that distillery, washed down with Bar Besuto's high-end bar snacks, such as mini prawn katsu sandwiches, onigiri, or steak frites - the snack menu will change week to week based on what is fresh at the Seafood Market that morning. You're guaranteed the opportunity to ask plenty of questions, as this intimate experience is limited to 9 seats only each week.
